A Caisson ceiling is usually made from wood and would often look like an umbrella that had been opened. These ceilings were lavishly carved and detailed and were considered to be the highest form of architectural art in Chinese buildings. These ceilings are featured prominently in the Forbidden City and there are 20 of these beautiful and hand-carved ceilings in the Hall of Supreme Harmony. These ceilings speak to the power and the artistic sensibility of the Ming and Qing Dynasties and have become no less wondrous since their creation in the 1300s.

This is made possible by combining 33.5 oz of copper as a base with a top layer of 2 oz of 999 pure Silver, resulting in high relief. Available in full Gold plating and Antiqued Silver finishing, this is a limited edition of 888 pieces only.
