As four baby turtles exposed to ‘mutagenic ooze’, they were transformed into crime-fighting heroes expert in the art of ninjutsu. Guided by their sensei, a rat named Splinter, their mission is to end villainy on the streets of New York.

Celebrating 40 years of adventures in comic books, animated series, movies and computer games, the coin portrays the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in colour with their weapons, ready to unleash Turtle Power! The design also includes the official ‘40 YEARS OF TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES’ anniversary logo, and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.

Accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity, the coin is housed in a display case that looks like the manhole cover through which the Turtles reach their lair in the sewers of New York.
