The reverse of the coin features a vivid and detailed depiction of Unzen Jigoku, accompanied by the striking rime ice and the Oyama magnolia flower. This design captures the natural beauty and unique geological features of Unzen-Amakusa National Park. The inscriptions include "日本国" – the issuing country, and "千円" – the face value.
