The reverse of the coin features the wonderful high relief image of Cao Cao, a Chinese poet, statesman, and warlord. He remains a controversial historical figure, he is often portrayed as a cruel and merciless tyrant in literature, but he has also been praised as a brilliant ruler, military genius. On the left of the reverse, the inscriptions: “CAO CAO” – the name of the coin and “Romance”.
 
The obverse of the coin features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II surrounded by Chinese drawings and the inscriptions: “ELIZABETH II” – the name of the Queen, “NIUE ISLANDS” – the issuing country, “2022” – the year of issue and “FIVE DOLLARS” – the face value.
